Listing rules

List a real roofing item or service, identify it accurately by material, profile and quantity, show every known fault and set a real price. Asbestos cement roofing may never be listed, and installation is licensed-roofer work.

✓ Metal roofing and sheeting, roof tiles, second-hand and surplus tiles, guttering and downpipes, fascia and barge, insulation and sarking, skylights and roof windows, ventilation and whirlybirds, flashings and ridge capping, safety mesh and fall protection, fixings, tools and genuine replacement parts
✓ New, used and reclaimed material with the exact material, profile, colour and quantity stated - and any second-hand tile or sheet clearly described including condition and known damage
✓ Roofing services, re-roofs, repairs, restoration, gutter work and inspections offered by people who hold every licence required for the work they advertise
✓ Roofing wholesalers, suppliers, rollformers, tile yards and salvage yards listing genuine, correctly-described stock
✓ Wanted ads that clearly describe the material or profile being sought, including a repair chasing a matching discontinued tile

Not allowed

✗ Pre-1990 asbestos cement roofing (super six, fibro sheeting, asbestos ridge capping) in any form - listing, selling or giving away asbestos material is prohibited and is licensed-removal work, not salvage stock
✗ Stolen material, altered or removed brand or batch markings, counterfeit or mislabelled product, or anything you cannot lawfully sell
✗ Recalled or structurally unsafe material, including items presented as usable when they are only fit for salvage or scrap
✗ Heavily corroded, cracked or delaminating sheet and tile with structural damage concealed by wording such as untested or as is
✗ Any suggestion that a buyer should carry out licensed roofing or roof plumbing work themselves where a licensed trade is legally required
✗ Claims that material or an installation is compliant, certified or asbestos-free without current evidence that applies to that item
✗ Placeholder, joke, duplicate or bait listings, and listings whose real purpose is advertising an unrelated business
✗ Weapons, controlled substances, general household goods or anything unrelated to roofing materials or their installation, service and maintenance

Moderation

Listings go live immediately and are reviewed after publication. Reported listings are checked first. We may remove a listing, restrict an account or ask for evidence when a claim affects safety, identity, licensing or compliance - asbestos-suspect listings are removed on sight. Reports are not shown to the seller.
